AFISM

WELCOME TO

APOSTOLIC FAITH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FOR MINISTRY

Afism was birthed in the State of Pennsylvania, in the City of Philadelphia. Aka the “City of Brotherly Love” In a small town called West Oak Lane.

AFISM was established in the year 2015 under the great leadership of Apostle Gay A. Owens. Our first official class was held in the Sanctuary at 7255 Ogontz Ave. Phila, PA. 19138. AFISM is a University which houses schools within the school. Our first two courses/schools were “Armour of God School of Prayer aka (ASOP) and Elijah School of Prophets aka ESOP.” During our first year 2015, We started out with eleven students, and graduated seven on Sunday, June 15th, 2016.

In our 2nd year in September of 2016, we registered nine students, and graduated seven on July 23rd, 2017. In our third year September 2017 AFISM made an audacious shift and opened up on face book where the masses were, we started out with twelve students, both nationally and internationally, we began our first live teaching in our class rooms and added our students online, there we had live teachings for the first time, we had students from Jamaica, Ghana, Nigeria, Guyana, London, and Rome! and again for the third time, we graduated seven students on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018.

In all, I learned that not all who started in the race with you will finish with you! The race is not for the swift! He reminded me how we need to run this race with patience! Nevertheless, amidst all the obstacles and challenges we faced, we purposed in our hearts to continue to press forward, and to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints! Today, with JEHOVAH NISSI before us, AFISM is still making history in humanity.

Our Chief Objective is to advance the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus, the Christ by equipping the called man for greater exploits!

GOD

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; 26-27, 3:22/ Psalms 90:2/ 1 Peter 1:2/ II Corinthians 13:14).

Jesus Christ:

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus is God and totally man. He died on the

cross and rose again after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory. He is co-equal with the Father. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, he is returning to redeem his bride, the church. (Matthew 1:22-23/ Isaiah 9:6/ John 1:1-5, 14:10-30/

Hebrews 4:14-15/ I Corinthians 15:3-4/ Romans 1:3-4/ Acts 1:9-11/ I

Timothy 6:14-15/ Titus 2:13).

Holy Spirit:

We believe the Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father, and Jesus Christ. He is present in the world He lives in every Christian from the moment of Salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, giving understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in what is right. He provides every Christian with spiritual gifts for service. We as Christians seek to live under his control daily. (II Corinthians 3:17/ John 16:7-13, 14:16-17/

Acts 1:8/ I Corinthians 2:12, 3:16/ Ephesians 1:13, 5:18/ Galatians 5:25).

Bible:

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired word of God, without any error, the sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine and Christian living. (II Timothy 1:13, 3:16/ II Peter 1:20-21/ Psalms 12:6, 119:105,160/ Proverbs 30:5).

Salvation:

We believe that eternal salvation is a free gift from God. Salvation is by grace through faith but we must accept it. Eternal life begins the moment one received Jesus Christ into his/her life by faith. ( Romans 6:23/ Ephesians 2:8-9/ John 14:6, 1:12/ Titus 3:5/ Galatians 3:26/ Romans 5:1).

Church:

We believe that the church is composed of all who have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ. We also believe members of the true church, which is the bride of Christ, are eligible for membership in the local church. We believe that the local church should be independent, self-governing and free of any denominational control. (Matthew 16:18/ I Corinthians 12:12-14/ Hebrews 10:25/ Colossians 1:18).

Marriage:

The Bible clearly declares that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely between one man and one woman who have been united in marriage. Hence, sexual relations outside of marriage or individuals of the same sex violate biblical standards.

It is Gods’ unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and his church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage. The biblical standards and the means for procreation of humanity. (Genesis 2:18, 24/
